The Australian government is planning to reopen the state borders as the Christmas season is approaching. The government is also looking for some alternative of hotel quarantine to facilitate more citizens coming back from abroad.

Latest News Says Australian Borders Reopening

A statement issued Prime Minister’s office says that other than Western Australia, all states and territories have been agreed to a working model that will help to open state borders before Christmas.

A meeting of federal and state leaders is planned on November 13, 2020, in which the details of this working model will be finalized. Authorities are trying to help maximum Australian citizens who are abroad, to come back home for Christmas by providing alternate quarantine options.

As the Covid-19 situation seems to be under control now, Australia is taking measures to boost its economy.

At a time when Europe and the US are trying to counter the increasing infection rates, Australian authorities are working to relax the rules for the citizens cross-state visits.

Prime Minister Morrison said “Australia has done well on both the health and economic fronts compared to most countries around the world. National Cabinet continues to work together to address issues and find solutions to the health and economic consequences of Covid-19.”
